Prime x Emerald Tarantula) F2. See description for hardiness. Oh my, where do I begin with this one?! This one has quite a story, but it’s worth telling, so here goes: The first year this was set to bloom we had a massive hail storm three days before bloom season began, and the weather was not conducive for rebloom. The second year we had a pipe burst during the -40F winter, and it flooded everything once it thawed, so we had to move everything in that area, including this one. So last year was the FIRST year it actually bloomed, even though it is five years old! I noticed it was putting up some UNBELIEVABLE scapes, so I said to myself “I KNOW that one is gonna be ugly…” and moved on. The next day, it bloomed for the first time…WOW! What a miscalculation! The bloom, the buds, the plant vigor…it has everything! Fertile both ways and was my go to parent for red doubles in 2023. Next year I will long cross it back to Outbreak Prime and roll the dice… |
